Hi, we’re Brian and Kristin
Founders
February 4, 2022, was both the best and the hardest day of their lives. It was the day Brian came home—after spending a week detoxing alone in a motel room in Bakersfield, CA—to finally come clean to Kristin about his long battle with heroin addiction. The confession brought betrayal, broken trust, and heartbreak. But it also opened a door: a chance to rebuild, this time with God at the center of their marriage.
The real work began immediately. Brian was still fighting through the grips of withdrawal, while Kristin was in her own battle—recovering from months of chemotherapy following a colon cancer diagnosis.
Over the next year, by the grace of God, they fought side by side to heal and rebuild what had been broken. One of the most powerful moments of their journey was being baptized together in the Jordan River in Israel—a symbol of their commitment to keep Christ at the heart of their relationship.
Out of their personal journey through recovery, 21pathways was born. It became a safe space for anyone impacted by addiction—those struggling, those in recovery, and the loved ones walking alongside them—to find hope, healing, and a community where no one has to walk alone.
